Dr. Yves-Marie Legrand carried out most of his studies abroad (UK and USA). Indeed, he obtained a BSc (Hns) in Chemistry in Newcastle (1997) and then undertook a co-founded PhD in organic chemistry between Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh (Scotland) and UMASS in Amherst (MA-USA) under the supervision of G Cooke and VM Rotello, respectively. In 2004, he returned to France where he accepted a project supervisor position for five years, as postdoctoral experience, in the research team of M. Barboiu, Adaptive Supramolecular Nanosystems at the European Institute for Membranes of Montpellier. YM Legrand was recruited in 2010 within the same lab, as Research Associate. In parallel of leading research projects, he is in charge of a characterisation platform (QCM, DLS, Fluo, CD, etc.) mainly focusing on molecular interactions and confinement effects. His research interests span from crystal engineering to nanobiotechnologies in the field of filtration (membranes) . He is the author of about 40 publications including JACS, Angewandte, PNAS, Nature Com. and Science.
