Julien CAMBEDOUZOU achieved his PhD thesis at the Laboratoire des Colloïdes, Verres et Nanomatériaux (Montpellier) on the structure and dynamics of carbon nanotube (CNT) based compounds. After a post-doc at the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique, he was hired in 2006 as assistant professor in the Université Paris Sud, where he taught in the Physics Department. He worked at the Laboratoire de Physique des Solides on molecular confinement inside CNT. As a specialist of X ray and neutron scattering, he moved in 2010 in the Institut de Chimie Séparative de Marcoule, where he broadened his research field to inorganic porous materials (silica, SiC) for environmental applications. He obtained the “HDR” diploma in 2015. As a teacher in the ENSCM, he is now the Head of the Internships Department.
He joined in September 2018 the Institut Européen des Membranes in order to conduct research on ceramics of controlled porosity for environmental and energy applications. In September 2018, he has co-authored 48 publications (H=16), 2 international patents, 3 book chapters, and he has given 13 invited talks. He directed or supervised 8 PhD theses. Involved in the local scientific life, he has been elected at the SC of UM’s Department of Chemistry and of ENSCM, and at the Academic Council of the COMUE-LR.
